Skinning Help

You want to hang your deer from the hind legs, peel down the hide until you reach the front legs. Cut the front legs off at the knee joint so to speak and pull the leg through the hide kind of like a sock, keep skinning down the shoulders and neck until you have about 6-8 inches of neck left. Cut the meat of the neck off leaving 6-8 inches of neck. Also leave all the hide (do not cut off the back of the cape . This can be done by the taxidermist to ensure there is enough hide for your mount. As a rule of thumb do not make any cuts in the hide on the shoulder side of the red lines in the picture below.
